Bowling Bomb
Bowling Bombs are an explosive item used in Crash Team Racing, Crash Nitro Kart, and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. When used, the Bowling Bomb rolls forward until it hits an object or another kart. The racer can also throw them backward. Unlike Homing Missiles, Bowling Bombs do not home in on a nearby racer. If the player presses the item button, the Bowling Bomb is manually detonated. A Weapons Crate can sometimes give three Bowling Bombs to a racer. A juiced Bowling Bomb rolls faster and has a bigger explosion radius. Bowling Bombs are the equivalent to both Green Shells and Bob-ombs from the Mario Kart series.
In Crash Team Racing, both Pinstripe Potoroo and Nitros Oxide deploy Bowling Bombs throughout their respective boss race. In Crash Nitro Kart, Emperor Velo also uses Bowling Bombs during his race.
