The Super Engine[1][2] is one of the items featured in Crash Team Racing, Crash Nitro Kart, and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. Whenever a racer uses a Super Engine, they are given a speed boost for a few seconds, similar to a Turbo Boost, except a Super Engine's boost lasts until a short timer runs out. A juiced Super Engine grants a speed boost for a longer period of time.
In Crash Team Racing, Super Engines are only available in races, but in Crash Nitro Kart, Super Engines are only used in multiplayer battles.
