Cosmic areas are locations with a starry and/or alien setting that appears in the Crash Bandicoot franchise.

Elements common among cosmic areas include meteorites and asteroids as obstacles, celestial bodies as either set pieces or background decor, and space stations as the main setting.

Any location can be a cosmic area as long as it is set in outer space, even if it consists of very limited cosmic elements in the level.

Many of the elements of cosmic areas appear in Dr. Neo Cortex's bases, most obviously Cortex Vortex from Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex.
