These rules are enforced on a case-by-case basis, but it is recommended to follow them in order to decrease debate on how the article should be written and intervention from administrators.

==Coverage==
Crash Bandicoot Wiki is an encyclopedic collection of information covering the entirety of the ''Crash Bandicoot'' franchise, from its games, characters, and other iconography to even more obscure pieces of media such as promotional comics, merchandise, and references outside of the franchise itself. Crash Bandicoot Wiki recommends heavy detailings and coverage of elements created for or that appear only in media of the franchise, which extends to covering the creation processes of any of these.

However, Crash Bandicoot Wiki does not lend full coverage to concepts that fall outside of this scope. Characters, objects, and other concepts that were created for media not pertaining to the ''Crash Bandicoot'' franchise, or that are otherwise not particularly unique to it, are not to be given the same characteristic treatment as the elements that do.

===Article creation===
Articles on Crash Bandicoot Wiki should be created for concepts and elements that uniquely appear in the ''Crash Bandicoot'' franchise. This extends to ''Crash Bandicoot'' games and other media, as well as the characters, locations, and objects that are made for these. Depending on how much can be written about the subject, articles referring to a single subject may sometimes be split in several pages, or be merged with other articles to form a list.

As per the previous rules, articles on subjects that aren't unique to ''Crash Bandicoot'' shouldn't be created. This means that users should not create pages on characters from outside of the ''Crash Bandicoot'' franchise, such as [[spyrowiki:Spyro the Dragon|Spyro the Dragon]], which is famously known for crossing over with ''Crash Bandicoot''; similarly, articles on real life subjects, such as people that were involved in the creation of ''Crash Bandicoot'' media, as well as real life species and objects that appear in the franchise, should not be made. ==Canon==
Information about the ''Crash Bandicoot'' franchise on Crash Bandicoot Wiki is to be treated as though its series of games doesn't follow a single continuous timeline, in other words, as if there is no canon. To this end, any and all officially published ''Crash Bandicoot'' media is to be treated as equally official as any other.

While most popular ''Crash Bandicoot'' games are chronologically set after other ''Crash'' games that precede them and are referenced, the wiki opts not to describe every game and their elements as though they follow a singular canon throughout the franchise; instead, each game and the elements canonical to it are to be referenced standalone from games that were made after them or were otherwise made without knowledge or references to it. Notably, this means that articles on characters from the series should not include sections describing events that happened prior to any of the games or other media in the series as though they describe the character in general (i.e. pre-series history/backstory), as opposed to content that is specific to the given game or media that the events are from. An example of this would be sections describing content created for the [[Crash Bandicoot (game)|first ''Crash Bandicoot'' game]] that received elaborations or alterations in following games; the section covering [[Crash Bandicoot]]'s role and other details in the first ''Crash Bandicoot'' game would not reference the new story elements and details that appear in ''[[Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time]]'', these would go on the section covering that game instead.

==Verifiability==
One of the most important concepts of Crash Bandicoot Wiki, as well as that of any other online wiki, is the guarantee that any content that is written on the wiki can reasonably be verified by anyone to be factual. Writing that the color of Crash Bandicoot's fur is orange in most of his appearances can easily be verified by looking at pictures of Crash throughout the games, and writing the amount of crates in the [[Cold Hard Crash level]] in ''[[Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy]]'' to be 155 can also be verified by playing the game normally. Some of the information that can be written on the wiki may be more difficult for the average person to verify, however; to this end, it is recommended to cite the parts of ''Crash Bandicoot'' media that point to a certain claim being true, so people have an easier time verifying the claim.

Like Wikipedia, and other wikis, Crash Bandicoot Wiki presents its information from a neutral point of view, attempting to be free of any biases.

==Speculation==
Crash Bandicoot Wiki is not a place to write about analyses or speculation on elements of the ''Crash Bandicoot'' franchise, as it is only concerned with presenting information on the franchise. While it is encouraged to emphasize certain views on a given subject, this should be done only to reinforce what can most likely be seen as what the element is intended to be depicted as, whenever reasonable to do so.
