The '''underground theme''' is a level theme that appears in the [[Crash Bandicoot (franchise)|''Crash Bandicoot'' franchise]]. Levels with this theme take place in caves, generally beneath the surface.  
'''Ice caves''' are underground areas within [[snowscape]]s. Like snowscapes, surfaces are often slippery, and the locations may include ice which characters must run, slide, or use [[Polar]]. Obstacles and enemies may take advantage of the slippery terrain.


Common elements seen in underground-themed levels are [[bat]]s. Most of these levels are also combined with [[Winter theme|winter]], [[Industrial theme|industrial]] and [[ancient ruins theme]]s.
