Clear Gems are a gray gem that appear in nearly every main series Crash Bandicoot title., starting with the first Crash Bandicoot game. They are usually rewarded at the very end of a level if Crash has destroyed every crate, usually right at the exit portal. In some games, such as Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, a Clear Gem may also be rewarded for completing a hidden area.
In Crash Bandicoot Purple: Ripto's Rampage, a Clear Gem is featured as a reward in minigames that have crates. Similar to the main platforming titles, Crash can obtain the Clear Gem of a minigame by breaking every crate.
