Nitro Crates are a recurring object in the Crash Bandicoot franchise.
Location and uses[edit]
Nitro Crates are explosive green crates filled with nitroglycerin. Unlike TNT Crates, Nitro Crates instantly damage Crash upon contact, so he must avoid them entirely. Nitro Crates debut in Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and in several of the main series installments, Nitro Crates can only be safely destroyed by activating a Nitro Crate Switch, which blows up every Nitro Crate in the level.
