Trippo[edit]

While not an actual Crash Team Racing character, Trippo[1] (better known as "Fasty" by fans[2]) is commonly believed to a scrapped character from the game, especially because he appears under the Crash Team Racing gallery of artist Bob Rafei's portfolio website. In a fan Q&A, Bob Rafei recalled Trippo being a mascot designed for a friend's airfare search engine and not designs for Crash Team Racing.[3]
In the code for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, there were references to an unused character named "Fasty", which were later removed in version 1.02 of the game.[2] On December 12, 2019, during the Winter Festival Grand Prix, Hasty, a character heavily inspired by Trippo, was introduced into the game.[4]
