Aku Aku is the spirit of an old witch doctor in the form of a wooden voodoo mask. He is the secondary protagonist of the Crash Bandicoot franchise, and assists Crash Bandicoot on his adventures. Crash can free Aku Aku from an Aku Aku Crate, and he allows Crash to sustain another hit from an enemy or obstacle, after which Aku Aku leaves Crash. His role is comparable to Sparx from the Spyro franchise.
