Bowling Bombs are an explosive item used in Crash Team Racing, Crash Nitro Kart, and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. When used, the Bowling Bomb rolls forward until it hits an object or another kart. The racer can also throw them backward. Unlike Homing Missiles, Bowling Bombs do not home in on a nearby racer. If the player presses the item button, the Bowling Bomb is manually detonated. In Crash Team Racing, both Pinstripe Potoroo and Nitros Oxide deploy Bowling Bombs throughout their respective boss race. In Crash Nitro Kart, Emperor Velo also uses Bowling Bombs during his race.
