Activision, otherwise known as Activision Publishing, Inc., is an American video game company and game publisher which was founded in 1979. Since 2008, Activision has owned the rights to the Crash Bandicoot franchise, with Crash: Mind over Mutant being their first published title. Activision also published Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy in 2017, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled in 2019, and Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time in 2020.
On July 9, 2008, the company was merged with Vivendi Universal Games, the owners of Sierra Entertainment and Blizzard Entertainment, to become Activision Blizzard. Since then, Activision has been a subsidiary of Activision Blizzard.
