Crash: Mind Over Mutant is a video game that serves as the direct sequel to Crash of the Titans. It had a multi-platform release for the PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, Wii, and PlayStation Portable. The game was developed by Radical Entertainment and published by Activision in October 2008. The PlayStation Portable port was done by Virtuos. There is also a Nintendo DS version, which was separately developed by TOSE. It, like the Game Boy Advance version of Crash of the Titans, has 2D gameplay rather than 3D. Like Crash of the Titans, the game was never released in Japan.

Crash: Mind Over Mutant shares its gameplay style with Crash of the Titans. The game introduces a feature allowing a Titan to be stored for later use. Crash: Mind Over Mutant's main story is told through animated cutscenes parodying various well known art styles.

This was the last mainline installment until in 2017 when the remaster of the first three games, Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy, was released. An eighth mainline installment, Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, was released in 2020, acting as an alternative continuation of the first three games while retconning other games in the main series.

Story[edit]

Neo Cortex reunites with N. Brio to create a device named NV that brainwashes any individual who wears it. Coco and Crunch fall victim to Cortex and Brio's mind control, and Crash goes on a journey to save them.
