- Not to be confused with Aku Aku Crate, which has the exact name of Aku Aku Box in Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex.
The Aku Aku Box is a type of crate that appears in Crash Bandicoot Purple: Ripto's Rampage. It has the same purpose as Aku Aku Crates, but is made of iron and cannot be broken. If Crash hits an Aku Aku Box, then Aku Aku emerges out from the top of it. There is a blue trading card of an Aku Aku Box in both Crash Bandicoot Purple: Ripto's Rampage and its paired game, Spyro Orange: The Cortex Conspiracy, and it is of lowest value.
In Crash Bandicoot Purple: Ripto's Rampage's instruction booklet, Aku Aku Crates, as well as their artwork and description, are incorrectly listed instead of Aku Aku Boxes despite the fact that Aku Aku Crates only appear as a trading card.
