- – Dr. Neo Cortex, Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time
Bandicoots are small orange marsupial mammals, and the main species of the Crash Bandicoot franchise. Most bandicoots in the franchise are actually bipedal instead of being quadrupeds, with some of them being due to mutation by Dr. Neo Cortex's and Dr. Nitrus Brio's Evolvo-Ray.
History
Crash Bandicoot
The first Crash Bandicoot game introduces the titular character, Crash Bandicoot, and his girlfriend Tawna Bandicoot, who were both mutated due to the Evolvo-Ray.
Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back
In Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, the game introduces Crash's sister, Coco Bandicoot, who helps his brother when he is kidnapped by Dr. Cortex.
Crash Bandicoot: Warped
In Crash Bandicoot: Warped, an enemy known as Prehistoric Crash Fish appears exclusively in the Dino Might! level. These fishes have a resemblance to Crash Bandicoot himself, having the same color and spin attack as him. Along with bringing back Crash and Coco, the game also introduces a new character named Fake Crash, who is only seen after beating the game to its completion and returning to certain levels, where he can be seen doing his own version of the Crash Dance.
Crash Team Racing
In Crash Team Racing, the game introduces a group of female bandicoots known as the "Trophy Girls", which consists of Ami, Megumi, Liz and Isabella. Their only purpose in that game is to announce the winners of races. The game also allows you to play as Crash, Coco and Fake Crash.
Crash Bash
In Crash Bash, it is possible to play as Crash, Coco and Fake Crash (who is exclusive to the Japanese version). During Papu Papu's boss fight, he can attack the player by sending smaller bandicoots, which strongly resemble smaller Crash Bandicoots wearing red shorts.
