Fruit Bazooka

Not to be confused with Wumpa Cannon, a type of bazooka used by Crash in some minigames of Crash Bandicoot Purple: Ripto's Rampage.

The Fruit Bazooka, also named Bazooka, is a type of weapon capable of shooting Wumpa Fruit. It first appears in Crash Bandicoot: Warped.

History

Crash Bandicoot: Warped

In Crash Bandicoot: Warped, the Fruit Bazooka is an unlockable power-up that Coco can obtain after defeating N. Gin. Despite being the one to obtain the power, Coco cannot use the Fruit Bazooka, which is only usable by Crash.

Whenever Crash takes out the Fruit Bazooka, an aiming reticle appears on-screen to indicate where the Fruit Bazooka is pointed. Once Crash aims the Fruit Bazooka, he can then fire from it. Crash cannot move while carrying the Fruit Bazooka, leaving him vulnerable to moving enemies and other hazards. The Fruit Bazooka can be used to destroy Nitro Crates, which is required in the levels Gone Tomorrow and Flaming Passion, as these do not have a Nitro Crate Switch.

In the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy remake, since Coco has been given a larger playable role, she can utilize the Fruit Bazooka.

Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex

In Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex, the Fruit Bazooka returns as an unlockable power, and has a very similar role as in its debut appearance. Crash can obtain the Fruit Bazooka by completing the fourth boss level, Atmospheric Pressure, by defeating Crunch and Lo-Lo. Unlike in Crash Bandicoot: Warped, Crash can use the Fruit Bazooka to shoot at a Checkpoint Crate from afar.

The Fruit Bazooka is the main feature of Crash Bandicoot Blast, a minigame exclusive to the Nintendo GameCube version and only playable on the Game Boy Advance via a Game Link Cable. The objective is for Crash to shoot at pictures of enemies for points while avoiding to shoot at pictures of his friends, as this results in the loss of points. Unlike other games, the Fruit Bazooka has only a limited amount of ammo, and the minigame ends when Crash runs out of it.
