Location and uses[edit]

Lava is a boiling red or orange liquid. If Crash or another playable character touches lava, they either instantly lose a life or take damage, depending on the game.

Main series[edit]

Crash Bandicoot[edit]

In Crash Bandicoot, its first appearance, lava appears in the boss fight against Koala Kong, and separates him from Crash. If Crash touches the lava, he takes damage.

Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back[edit]

In Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, lava is found in the secret path of Hangin' Out, en route to Totally Fly. Some lava is visible on the floor and portals of the fourth Warp Room.

Crash Bandicoot: Warped[edit]

In Crash Bandicoot: Warped, lava appears as a hazard in the prehistoric levels, such as Bone Yard. Lava is found in small pools or large streams. In Crash Team Racing, lava appears in the track Mystery Caves, where pours out of statue mouths to form a large streams. The lava does not harm or affect the racers.

Crash Nitro Kart[edit]

In Crash Nitro Kart, lava appears in Meteor Gorge and Barin Ruins. It also appears in the background of Inferno Island.

Crash Tag Team Racing[edit]

In Crash Tag Team Racing, lava appears as a hazard in Tyrannosaurus Wrecks. Because Crash does not have any health or lives, he simply respawns whenever he touches the lava.

Crash Bash[edit]

In Crash Bash, lava is featured as a hazard in the center part of the arena in Dante's Dash, during the prehistoric segment.
