Snow Biz, an example of a winter-themed stage, from Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back.

Levels with a winter theme take place in icy or snowy environments, possibly mountainous or underground. Surfaces are often slippery, and the levels may include ice which characters must run, slide or use Polar. Many levels with this theme may contain underground sections. Obstacles, enemies and bosses may take advantage of the slippery terrain.
