Ice Mines are an item in Crash Nitro Kart.

An Ice Mine is a power-up, and when it is picked up from a Weapons Crate, a racer can either drop it behind them or alternatively throw it in front of them. If a racer drives into an Ice Mine, they are temporarily encased within a large block of ice.
