Pura is a tiger cub and a sidekick of Coco Bandicoot. He first appears in Crash Bandicoot: Warped, and has appeared as a playable character in a few of the racing titles.

Main series[edit]

Crash Bandicoot: Warped[edit]

In Crash Bandicoot: Warped, Coco rides Pura in the two levels, Orient Express and Midnight Run, both of which take place on the Great Wall of China. Pura is capable of running fast, and Coco has some control over his movement. Coco cannot complete the levels without Pura, because if Pura crashes into any obstacles, causing Coco to fall off, she loses an extra life. Pura also helps Coco during the battle against N. Gin.

Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex[edit]

In Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex, Pura makes a cameo appearance in both the opening and ending cinematic.

Racing games[edit]

Crash Team Racing[edit]

In Crash Team Racing, Pura is a playable character. He is in the "Beginner" category, and has high acceleration and turning capabilities. Pura drives a purple-colored kart.

Crash Nitro Kart[edit]

In Crash Nitro Kart, Pura was brainwashed by N. Trance to become a member of Team Trance, along with Dingodile and Polar. Throughout the game, Pura wears a purple helmet with an antenna, which is how N. Trance brainwashed him.

Party games[edit]

Crash Boom Bang![edit]

In Crash Boom Bang!, Pura is one of the four starter playable characters. Unlike other games, Pura is anthropomorphic, as he can talk and stand upright.

General information[edit]

Physical appearance[edit]

Pura has the appearance of a tiger cub. He has striped orange fur which can be either light or dark, depending on the game. His ears are usually pointed, and his irises are usually green.

In Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex, Pura's fur is a darker shade of orange. Both is head and ears were made rounder, and Pura also received whiskers and longer claws. His irises were also made larger. It is the first game where Pura has V-shaped stripes on his forehead, although they were visible in his artwork for Crash Bandicoot: Warped and Crash Team Racing. These stripes do not appear on Pura's head in Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart 2.

In Crash Nitro Kart, Pura more closely resembles his original PlayStation design, although with lighter fur and more visible teeth. Some stripes were added to his chest and cheeks.

In Crash Boom Bang!, Pura wears a pair of blue shorts. His irises were changed to light blue, and the insides of his ears are pink.

In Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, Pura has even brighter fur than in Crash Nitro Kart. His irises were changed to yellow, and a black stripe was added to the tip of his tail. Pura was also given a pair of prominent whiskers, three on each side.
